Agenda Founder Fundamentals Winter Term 2025/26

Week 1

Day 1

21.10.2025 at 13:30

Founder Stories: Insights from founders on turning ideas into reality

In a panel discussion, learn about different ways of and paths to entrepreneurship. Being an entrepreneur can mean more than founding a startup. To shed lights on these different trajectories we invite guests that all live their very own version of being entrepreneurs. We also use this session as an introductory session to the curriculum and answering all questions you might have before our class kicks off.

Week 2

Day 2

04.11.2025 at 13:30

Pitching

A great idea is only as powerful as the way you tell its story. In this highly interactive session, you’ll learn how to transform any concept into a compelling pitch that captures attention and builds trust. Together with our guest lecturer who has coached thousands of founders and startup teams, you’ll practice the techniques that make investors lean in and audiences remember you. Expect practical exercises, live feedback, and the chance to refine your pitch in a safe environment. Whether you’ve never pitched before or want to sharpen your delivery, you’ll leave with actionable insights and the confidence to communicate your ideas like a pro.

Week 3

Day 3

18.11.2025 at 13:30

Go to Market & Growth Hacking

Learn how product design and go-to-market strategy join forces to turn features, onboarding flows and UX choices into growth — from identifying high-growth opportunities and finding product–market fit to solving the cold-start problem. We’ll cover growth strategies and channel tactics, rapid prototyping and optimization, and behavioral-science levers for product adoption and retention.

This course is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to master the financial and legal basics of building a startup. You’ll gain a clear understanding of term sheets, what they are, why they matter, and how to navigate key clauses with confidence. We’ll also break down the essentials of startup valuations, exploring how investors assess value, common methods used, and what this means for your ownership and fundraising journey. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge to negotiate effectively and make smarter decisions as a founder.

Week 5

Day 5

16.12.2025 at 13:30

Robust Finances and Business Models

Although a great product, a world-class team, and previous experience are crucial for a startup’s success, most companies fail due to incorrect assumptions and unstable financials. It may seem unexciting at first, but getting your financials right and developing a cash-generating business model could be the difference between making or breaking your firm. Without previous experience or knowledge, in this class, you'll learn the most important terminology and how to think about finance like a seasoned founder.

Week 6

Day 6

13.01.2026 at 13:30

Founding your company

This hands-on workshop guides you through the key legal steps of founding a startup in Germany. Led by a practicing business lawyer, you’ll gain practical insights into company structures, from the initial idea to the notary appointment. Through interactive exercises, you’ll become familiar with essential legal terminology and learn what really matters when drafting your Articles of Association. What are the actual steps you need to take to get your company up and running? Bring your questions as we demystify the founding process together.
